Cookies Policy

In accordance with the provisions of the General Provision of the Privacy Guarantor “Identification of simplified methods for information and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies” of 8 May 2014 (web doc. 3118884), we provide users of the site www.fmsi.ngo some information about the cookies used, how they are used by the site and how to manage them.

Identification of simplified methods for information and the acquisition of consent for cookie use.

Definition

A cookie is a small text file created on the user’s computer when the user accesses a particular site, for the purpose of storing and transporting information. Cookies are sent from a web server (which is the computer on which the visited website is running) to the user’s browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) and stored on the user’s device; they are then redirected to the website on subsequent visits. During navigation, the user may also receive on his device cookies from different sites (so-called “third party” cookies) set directly by the operators of these websites and used for the purposes and in the manner defined by them.

Types of cookie

The www.fmsi.ngo website uses technical cookies (navigation and session cookies) and includes some services provided by third parties that generate cookies stored on the user’s computer such as:

The Google Analytics service is used to monitor access to the portal and how it is used by the user. To view the characteristics of this service and the privacy specifications, please refer to the Google Analytics privacy policy.

Facebook and Instagram are used to share portal content on social networking sites. To view the technical characteristics of this service and the specifications regarding privacy, please refer to the information on the respective sites.

On some pages you are redirected to the YouTube platform. To view the technical features of these services and privacy specifications, please refer to YouTube’s privacy policy.

Cookie duration

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the logout command is executed. Other cookies “survive” when the browser is closed and are also available on subsequent visits by the user. These cookies are called persistent cookies and their duration is fixed by the server when they are created. In some cases, an expiry date is set, in other cases the duration is unlimited.

Cookie management

The user can decide whether or not to accept cookies using its own browser settings.

Please note that disabling all or part of technical cookies may compromise the optimal use of the site.

Disabling “third party” cookies in no way affects navigability

The settings can be defined specifically for different websites and web applications. In addition, browsers allow the user to define different settings for “own” and “third party” cookies. For example, in Firefox, through the menu Tools->Options->Privacy, you can access a control panel where you can define whether or not to accept the different types of cookies and proceed with their cancellation. On the Internet you can easily find the documentation on how to set the rules for the management of cookies for your browser, for example some links related to the main browsers are listed below:
