The city of Betroka, situated in a remote area of southern Madagascar, is grappling with severe malnutrition issues stemming from prolonged droughts and the inability to cultivate land. This situation compels the population, especially boys and girls, to endure persistent food deprivation, endangering their health and overall well-being.

To address this pressing food emergency and enhance the health conditions of both male and female students at Lycée Privé St. Vincent de Paul secondary school, operated by the Marist Brothers of Madagascar, a food program was initiated. This program provides one daily meal to male and female students, offering them the energy and focus required to confront daily challenges. Furthermore, it has been observed that the distribution has a positive impact on their cognitive abilities and learning. As a result, there has been a notable increase in school attendance throughout the year, significantly contributing to the enhancement of their physical health and overall well-being. This initiative represents a crucial stride towards elevating the quality of life for male and female students in Betroka, affording them the opportunity for a brighter future.
