FMSI recently contributed to FOCSIV's “All Brothers Guide for Integral Ecology” with a significant project carried out in Mexico, described on page 93. This project reflects FMSI's commitment to promoting the rights of children and youth, especially in vulnerable contexts.

FMSI's project in Mexico, in collaboration with the Marist University of Merida, focuses on promoting the rights of children and their indigenous Mayan communities in the Cuxtal Reserve, located near the city of Merida, the capital of Yucatan.
This intervention aims to train teachers and students as well as incorporate elements of indigenous culture based on traditional agro-ecological knowledge and practices into formal school curricula.

Through educational and awareness-raising activities, the project aims to foster awareness related to health and nutrition, allowing the inhabitants to identify the Reserve as their territory within which they can promote environmentally friendly practices and the right to decide on a healthy diet.

The “Tutti Fratelli” guide produced by FOCSIV is an important resource that brings together the experiences and activities carried out in various geographical and social contexts by organizations engaged in international solidarity.

This guide is designed as a tool for sharing good practices and methodologies adopted in the field of development cooperation and humanitarian assistance.

The guide highlights organizations' efforts to promote human rights, education, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion. Each project described within the guide is accompanied by details on the methodologies used, results achieved, and challenges encountered, with the goal of providing concrete examples that can be replicated or adapted in other contexts.

Through this project in Mexico, FMSI continues to demonstrate its commitment to building a better future for communities in vulnerable conditions, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
