10 December 2025 – “Note Solidali”: the Christmas Concert at the Marist Brothers’ General House, a moment to celebrate 18 years of FMSI and renew our commitment to child rights
On 10 December, in the warm and welcoming setting of the Marist Brothers’ General House in Rome, FMSI celebrated a special moment of gathering and gratitude dedicated to its community of supporters. The event, which combined music, testimonies, and a strong spirit of solidarity, was enriched by the presence of exceptional artists: Maestro Senio Díaz, a leading figure in contemporary classical guitar and heir to the Venezuelan and international musical tradition; Gabriel Guillén Navarro, professor at the Conservatory of Eisenstadt (Austria) and promoter of the “Alirio Díaz” International Festival and Competition, with a strong focus on Venezuelan repertoire; Daniele Salvatore Pidone, professor at the Musical High School of Catania and active concert performer, committed to enhancing harmonizations and arrangements inspired by the tradition of Alirio Díaz; and the ConTemporary Guitar Duo, formed by Felicia Toscano and Luigi Picardi, an ensemble that explores transversal musical languages, going beyond traditional stylistic boundaries.
The concert offered the audience an intense and refined musical journey, with pieces spanning different eras and cultures, performed with the artistic sensitivity that has always distinguished Maestro Díaz. Every note resonated as an invitation to safeguard beauty, recognize the value of human relationships, and renew our commitment to building a more just world for children and vulnerable communities.
After the concert, the traditional Christmas greeting exchange with FMSI donors took place—a simple yet meaningful moment designed to meet, share thoughts, and thank all those who, over the past year, have supported the Foundation’s projects. Through their contribution—translated into educational opportunities, protection, dignity, and hope for thousands of children around the world—this network of solidarity continues to bring about concrete transformations within the communities supported by the Marist Brothers.
During the toast, the FMSI staff expressed deep gratitude for the ongoing support, emphasizing how every gesture, whether big or small, helps strengthen our commitment to children’s rights. The gathering was also an opportunity to recall the principle guiding FMSI’s work: placing people at the center, valuing their stories, and accompanying them as they grow their skills and aspirations. The evening concluded in an atmosphere of serenity and closeness, with the hope that the new year may bring new opportunities for collaboration and solidarity. The concert and the exchange of greetings offered not only an artistic experience but also a profoundly human one, reminding us that music—like solidarity—is a universal language capable of uniting, inspiring, and sparking hope.
