We're Raising Funds to Support the FRATELLI PROJECT in Lebanon
The humanitarian crisis in Lebanon has reached critical levels, with the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, starting on September 23, devastating large areas of the country, especially in the South, the Bekaa Valley, and Beirut. Despite the announcement of a ceasefire and the return of thousands of citizens to the south, Lebanese families, including women and children, still urgently need assistance. Upon their return, many found their homes destroyed and were forced to face further bombings. The death toll now exceeds 3.800 people, many of them civilians, with more than 15,000 injured and 1.2 million internally displaced, including more than 300,000 children. Damage is estimated at $8.5 billion including at least 100,000 homes.
FMSI has decided to launch a fundraising campaign to support the Fratelli Project, which, in coordination with the Fratelli Council, has chosen to remain operational despite the risks, to continue its mission of supporting the community in need. Although much has been done so far, the situation remains critical, and the emergency cannot yet be considered over. This commitment has become essential to provide a minimum of relief and dignity to those affected by the conflict, who continue to live in conditions of extreme vulnerability.
The current activities of the Fratelli Project include:
- A daily educational space where around 50 children find a calm and safe environment, play, and receive a snack.
- Family visits to listen to their needs and provide psychological and social support.
- Distribution of humanitarian aid (mattresses, food, and hygiene supplies) to alleviate the suffering of displaced families.
We are deeply grateful for the support you have always shown. Thanks to your generosity, FMSI can be a tangible help for those most in need at this challenging time.
We invite you to contribute to this fundraising campaign to keep our support active. Together, we can make a difference for the individuals and families facing this emergency.
Thank to the support of the Marist Institute, 100% of the funds will be totally donated to the Fratelli Project. Exclusion criteria are established in order not to allow the purchase of weapons, armaments and any goods that may threaten the protection of the individual.
